Next page next page

An element is made of only one type of atom (for example: O, O2, Cl, Fe, Na).

The periodic table provides a list of all known elements in the universe.

Elements cannot be broken down by chemical reactions.

Compounds are made up of different elements (for example: FeO, NaCl, FeCl3).

Compounds can be broken apart by breaking the chemical bonds between atoms.
